North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST), Jorhat, a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has released an official admission notification under the national program “CSIR-Integrated Skill Initiative”.
Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for various Basic and Advanced Skill Development Training Programs for the year 2026. Eligible candidates will receive certification under the NSDC-CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative scheme upon successful completion.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit: The upper age limit is 38 years (Relaxation of age will be applicable as per Government of India norms).
Educational Qualification
- Welding, Fitting, Plumbing, Assistant Electrician: Minimum Class 10th passed.
- 2D & 3D AutoCAD drafting (Mechanical): Class 10th / ITI / Diploma / Degree passed.
- Plant Tissue Culture Technician: 10+2 passed (preferably Science). Expertise in nursery work will be given preference.
- Animal Attendant: 10+2 passed (preferably Science) / ITI passed.
- CNC Turning & Machining: ITI passed as Machinist/Turner OR Diploma in Mechanical or allied subjects.
- Advanced Welding: ITI passed in Welding OR Diploma in Mechanical or allied subjects.
- AI-Machine Learning: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any Science or Engineering discipline (Note: This course will be conducted in completely online mode).
- Field Technician – Networking and Storage: Minimum qualification is a pass in BCA, BSc (IT), BSc (Computer Science), or Diploma in Computer/IT/Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation.
- Other Courses: Minimum Class 8th passed.
Note for Weaving Trade: Woman candidates will be given preference for the Jacquard Weaving course.
Training Course Fee
- Laboratory Animal Attendant: A course fee of Rs. 5,000/- will be charged at the time of admission.
- All Other Courses: Completely Free of Cost.

- Fill out the application form precisely.
- If applying for more than one trade, you must submit a separate application form for each.

Selection Process
Candidates will be short-listed based on the percentage of marks obtained in their respective qualifying examinations. In case of a high volume of applicants, a screening test may be conducted.

- For Jacquard Weaving: Uttar Negheri Handloom CFC; Uttar Negheri, Merapani, Golaghat District, Assam (via associated NGO SNEHPAD).
- For All Other Trades: CSIR-NEIST Campus, Jorhat, Assam.
